fuengirola_womanWhat happens when a city is governed by a woman since the early nighties?

Well, you can see that in Fuengirola, which is at the mercy of Doña Esperanza Oña since the early nineties, I believe.

It comes as no surprises that the council of the city is predominantly female. I wonder if the amount of flowers, in and around public buildings, greenery, easy obtainable opening licences for shoe shops and the heavy restrictions on night clubs and late night venues are in direct relation with the female dominance in our town hall.

Might well be, but maybe not

However I found particularly odd at first , that Fuengirola has, believe it or not, an official “department of equality for women”. (Concejalía para la Igualdad).
